Who we are
on diabetes policy and practice, a convener of the community movement, a partner to including foundations, government, and an advocate for people at risk of or living with diabetes. We have an impressive track record, but we also have a vision, expertise and solutions to drive national change for people with diabetes in Tanzania.
Our Objectives
To support needy people living with diabetes. Furthermore, give these, their relatives and friends, the opportunity to share ideas and problems, receive advice and provide mutual help.
Our Support
We provide education at all levels of society on how to overcome prejudice and ignorance about diabetes.
Excellency, Ummy Mwalimu – Minister of Health, launched a book “Mtindo Bora wa Maisha” and handed medical equipment to 703 health centers across the country. Excellency, Ummy Mwalimu praised the great efforts of TDA and WDF in collaboration with the Ministry of Health to control and prevent non-communicable diseases. Her Excellency has also thanked Prof. Kaushik and Prof. Swai for being on the front line in dealing with non-communicable diseases.

TDA partners with the Ministry of Health and PO-RALG in Tanzania, the World Diabetes Foundation, the International Diabetes Federation, and Novo Nordisk to implement projects that contribute to the prevention and management of diabetes and other non-communicable diseases as well as their risk factors.
TDA in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and PO-RALG continues to train 3000 primary health care providers to enable them to control non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in their areas.
TDA in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and PO-RALG have empowered 2880 primary health services providers so far from 707 health centers
