The Diabetes Compass is a digital initiative designed to drive capacity development for community and primary healthcare workers and assist them in providing high-quality care for diabetes and other NCDs. The program will provide a digital solution with a focus on Health Information and Community Screening of NCDs.
As WDF has significant experience working to improve the health care provided to people with diabetes in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) and Tanzania Diabetes Association (TDA) is a leading voice of diabetes science, medicine, medical education and health promotion in Tanzania.
The goal is to successfully develop, launch and maintain a digital health solution that can be locally owned and has a secure and sustainable future anchored within local health system environments.
Partnerships can be used to bring about social changes and make improvements in quality of care for the benefits of patients. Therefore, the overarching goal of the Partnership is to make improvements in the quality of diabetes care by ensuring that learning opportunities, digital performance support tools and resources are broadly available to those who wish to build capability, strengthen health system response to diabetes and mature their clinic to a more advanced level of care.
Diabetes Compass – Aims to put digital resources into the hands of health care professionals in LMIC to help them navigate the diabetes care journey together with their patients.
